LISINOPRIL - BLOOD PRESSURE
PSA: If you are African-American and you are taking Lisinopril or know someone who is taking it to treat high blood pressure, please beware and have YOUR DOCTOR take you off of it IMMEDIATELY. We found out that MANY African-Americans have suffered from Angioedema (which can kill you quickly) caused by Lisinopril. Angioedema is swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, & back of throat (which can kill you). They are not educating African-Americas of the DEADLY side effects of Lisinopril. A family member of mine is currently suffering from Angioedema due to the high blood pressure medication Lisinopril. He was on this medication for 6 years and it just hit him. He has been rushed to ER multiple times due to his face, lips, mouth, & THROAT CLOSING UP; he also has welts and hives on his body. Primary care doctors should be educating their African American patients on the effects Lisinopril may have on them. My family member found out from a pharmacist and the ER Doctors that it has been determined that Lisinopril has an effect that primarily occurs with the African American population. This is something you should discuss with your doctor or pharmacist!!!
